Post-Surgical & Scar Tissue Recovery

Reconstruction after a mastectomy often means more than the mastectomy site itself. When a procedure like a lat flap reconstruction relocates muscle from the back to rebuild the front, the scar tissue and tightness that follow don't stay contained to one area. Clients describe feeling pulled forward, scrunched, tight through the chest and shoulder, and not quite like themselves, even well after their surgical team has cleared them.

That's the gap this work addresses: the space between “medically healed” and “moving freely again.” Treatment focuses on creating real mobility in the scar tissue itself and restoring range of motion in the surrounding muscles that have been compensating, sometimes for months or years.

What We've Seen

Working with several clients recovering from mastectomy and reconstruction, one session was often enough to create noticeably more mobility in the scar area and improve range of motion. One client was able to lift her arm fully overhead to lie down comfortably on the table, something she hadn't been able to do in years.

This work is built on continuing education specifically in scar tissue treatment, cupping, and kinesiology taping, with an Integrated Pain Specialist certification (American Posture Institute) currently in progress. It's not a substitute for your surgical or medical care; it picks up where that care leaves off.
